Description:
Instrument is an independent digital creative agency in Portland, Oregon. We build digital brands, experiences and campaigns for every screen.
“We have a Human Development Director that works with employees to ensure the company is more inclusive and that individuals have a strong sense of belonging and pride in themselves and their work. Not a lot of politics or hierarchy here that would put a barrier between employees and leadership. In the past, some of our employees have attended Diversity & Inclusion workshops, AdColor conference, and internal workshops such as "privilege primer" and "managing inclusion." We also do a lot of community outreach, showing films like CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap, working with Women Who Code, iUrbanTeen, etc. We still have a long ways to go.”
“We are part of the Tech Diversity Pledge by the Portland Development Commission. Audits, workshops, and programs are implemented. Our Director of Human Development has created a 7 week workshop to help with professional and personal development.”
We keep Good for PoC running out-of-pocket and donations help us with operational costs. All donation amounts help, from the cost of a cup of tea/coffee to a new Beyoncé album or the cost of a satisfying meal.
“You always meet with several discipline leads, pertinent to your role or work. You meet with at least one of the Partners of the company. It was casual which was reflective of the environment. They do a lot of listening and not just asking questions. They want to hear your story.”
